Fernando Soto is the Head of the Multi-Family Office (MFO) in Chicago. In his role, he advises private business owners, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, and family offices on complex matters related to investing, wealth planning, philanthropy, family business governance, and corporate advisory.
Fernando currently oversees some of the MFO’s largest global relationships, helping clients achieve their definition of success for their family, wealth, and business over generations. He sits on the Capital Partners Sustainability Committee as well as the Diversity & Inclusion Council.
Fernando is a frequent contributor to media, appearing frequently in the pages of The Wall Street Journal and Morningstar. Outside of the firm, he serves as a board member of the Duke University Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) Department, where he supports, mentors, and advises the next generation of Duke entrepreneurs; Help Peru, a New York-based charity that supports charitable organizations that helps underprivileged Peruvians; The International Foundation (TIF), a foundation that supports thousands of U.S.-based 501(c)3 organizations around the world; and American Friends of Waterford, a foundation that supports educational initiatives in Southern Africa.
Fernando received a B.A. from Syracuse University and an MBA from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business. Fernando was named to the 2021 American Bankers Association (ABA) 40 under 40 list at age 31.
