Tom is a Business Analyst in BBH’s Finance Technology Management team. Originally from the United States, he’s lived in Poland for the past seven years. Outside of work, Tom enjoys cooking unhealthy dishes, such as BBQ pulled pork, and exploring the world of hip-hop.
What brought you to BBH?
I moved to Poland in 2012 for my studies and after deciding to stay indefinitely, found BBH in 2013 by chance. I spent my first four years in Custody Client Service where I serviced U.S. and Global Custody clients. The knowledge I gained about cash and funds transfer opened a door to join a project which enhanced by experience and led to a supervisor role in Custody Client Service. These combined experiences, along with an interest in BBH’s technology, brought me to my current team in 2017—now I provide product and project management for Global Controllers, Institutional Risk Analysis Administration (IRAA), Network and Counterparty Relationship Management (NCRM), and Treasury.

How do you describe your leadership style?

How would you describe yourself in three words?
“Ordnung muß sein,” which translates from German to “there must be order.” It explains a lot about me.
What is one of the most defining moments in your career?
There hasn’t been one moment, but a series of similar moments. I’ve been fortunate to meet people prior to and at BBH who were willing to take a chance on new talent or non-traditional experience. Each of those steps along the way allowed me to grow, build networks, and open doors to new opportunities I wasn’t expecting.
What advice can you share with future BBHers?
You’re responsible for advocating for yourself, communicating your desires, and letting those around you know what your goals are. If others don’t know, they can’t help you or may not have you in mind when an opportunity presents itself.
