Susan Livingston is a Partner and serves as BBH's global ambassador and client liaison. In her role, she cultivates the firm's businesses by increasing awareness and visibility of BBH within the governmental and financial services communities. Susan joined BBH in 1985 in the Banking Department working in the growing Investor Services business in a number of roles, including management of the Network Management Department, Global Tax, Relationship Management, and the Client Service Group. She lived in Luxembourg where she served as Managing Director of BBH Luxembourg SA from 1992 to 1995, and later ran the Asia-Pacific business. As well as establishing our Global Business Development discipline and our Offshore Mutual Funds division, she was instrumental in setting up the Dublin, Luxembourg, and Beijing offices.
Most recently, Susan ran the Funds and Asset Management division prior to her current role as BBH’s Senior Client Liaison. Susan has been involved with the United Way Women’s Breakfast for many years and was co-chair of the City Year Breakfast. In April 2000, Susan was named Honorary Consul to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is a member of the BBH US Registered Mutual Funds Board and an honorary member of BBH (Luxembourg) S.C.A. She has served as Chairwoman of BBH Trustee Services (Ireland) Ltd., and BBH (Luxembourg) S.C.A., and has acted as Director of BBH Trust Company (Cayman) Ltd., BBH (Hong Kong) Ltd., BBH Investment Services (Japan) Inc., BBH Securities (Japan) Inc., Brown Brothers Harriman Services AG, and BBH Investor Services (Ireland) Ltd.
Her board affiliations include: BBH Trust Board of Trustees, Investment Company Institute, Tufts University’s Fletcher School Board of Advisors, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. She is also a member of the East India Marine Associates for the Peabody Essex Museum, as well as the President of Livingston Weddings and Receptions LLC. In addition, she is on the President’s Council of Advisors of Scenic Hudson, an Advisory Trustee of Friends of Clermont and a Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy student mentor. Former Directorships include the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies at Johns Hopkins University, Clearstream, NICSA, and the Tower School.
Prior to joining BBH, Susan worked with Manufacturers Hanover Trust’s International Division in New York, and for the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative’s office in Washington, DC and Geneva, Switzerland. Susan graduated from Tufts University and has a M.A. in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School.
