As the Senior Fiduciary Director of Brown Brothers Harriman Trust Company of Delaware, Kerry Porter is responsible for fiduciary business acceptance and governance, talent development, and risk management.
Prior to joining the firm in 2022, Kerry was in private legal practice in Wilmington, Delaware, specializing in estate and trust litigation, estate planning and wealth preservation, estate administration, and advising fiduciaries in all matters relating to trusts and estates. During law school, Kerry interned in the Veterans Law Clinic, completed a public interest externship with DuPont, and volunteered for the Wills for Heroes and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance programs. Following law school, she was awarded an Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Legal Fellowship to provide legal advocacy and representation to military veterans. Kerry also served as legislative counsel to the Majority Caucus of the Delaware House of Representatives.
Kerry is a graduate of the Mid-Atlantic Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and a member of the Estates & Trusts and Tax Sections of the Delaware State Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association.
She received a B.S. from Wilmington University (cum laude), a J.D. from Widener University School of Law (Delaware Law School) (pro bono distinction), and an LL.M. in taxation and Certificate in Estate Planning from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.
