Remembering Those Missing and Captured While Serving

In partnership with BBH’s Military Veterans Network, BBH is flying the POW/MIA flag at our office buildings in the U.S.

This year, in partnership with BBH’s Military Veterans Network (MVN), the Firm is flying the POW/MIA flag outside our US office buildings for National POW/MIA Recognition Day to honor and remember those who gave up their freedom for their country. The flag is a symbol of commitment to account for the missing and recover the remains of service members who have been reported as Prisoners of War or Missing in Action and reminds us of their story and their sacrifices during various conflicts around the globe.

For members of MVN, the POW/MIA flag is more than just a piece of cloth; it is a symbol that honors the past, informs the present, and inspires the future. Flying the flag shows our support for those missing and captured and for their families, as well as demonstrates our awareness and appreciation of the history and legacy of those who served in conflicts around the world. MVN views the POW/MIA flag as a universal symbol of human dignity and compassion, as it expresses hope to those missing and to their loved ones and reminds them that they are not forgotten.

The POW/MIA flag depicts a prisoner of war in front of a guard tower and barbed wire, with the letters POW/MIA above and the words You Are Not Forgotten. The flag is black and white, reflecting the anguish and grief of those who wait for their loved ones to come home.
