What has been your career path at BBH?
I started my journey at BBH six years ago. I was very fortunate and had opportunities to work with different groups: Fund Accounting, Fund Admin, and now Fintech. I started as Systems programmer but with time my skills and roles have changed. Now I’m technical leader in the Fintech department where we try to build completely new products which can help change the way how our business operates.
I strongly believe that everyone has something to offer. As an engineer, I know how important learning new skills is. That’s why I try to work with my teams on creating a mindset where constant improvement is a habit."
How do you describe your leadership style?
In general, I try to listen what other people have to say. There is no chance I know everything, so I rely on other people’s expertise. It doesn’t matter if it’s senior or junior level colleague – I strongly believe that everyone has something to offer. As an engineer, I know how important learning new skills is. That’s why I try to work with my teams on creating a mindset where constant improvement is a habit. This approach helps me solve problems in other areas, believe me.
What inspires you?
It’s simple – other people. I read, listen, and watch a lot. My list of podcast and audiobooks is always too long to handle. I also like to follow interesting stories of people, companies, or teams which transform the way they operate.
What is one of the most defining moments in your career?
After nine years in the IT industry, I believe that we are shaped by the sum of small events in our lives. I don’t believe in overnight change I believe in small steps and consistency.
What advice can you share with future BBHers?
Be patient and prepare yourself for change. When I started my career here, I thought I would learn everything in few weeks. Meanwhile, technology and finance are complex, and it takes time to gain your knowledge. Regarding change – be aware that our environment is constantly changing, and you will need to adjust. On the other hand, whenever you feel that you start to settle – then change your environment. BBH offers great internal possibilities and you should use it.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
I will use two: Constant learner
