Bill Tyree is BBH’s Managing Partner. As such, he is responsible for leading the Firm’s 6,000+ employees in our collective mission to foster strong client relationships and fulfill our brand promise of being partners in our client’s success. Bill chairs the firm’s Executive Committee, which is focused on developing and implementing BBH’s strategic initiatives and aligning our business and growth with the needs of our clients. He also serves on the firm’s Finance Committee, which oversees investments in employees, technology, and innovation to deliver exceptional client outcomes, manage risk, and grow globally.
With a career at BBH spanning nearly four decades, Bill has guided the firm through significant industry changes and global expansions. Bill joined BBH in 1985, was named a Partner in 2001, and was appointed to the role of Managing Partner in 2016. Prior to becoming Managing Partner, Bill spent eight years as the global head of BBH’s Investor Services business which provides asset servicing, markets and technology solutions to leading global asset gatherers and financial intermediaries. From 1992 to 2008, Bill was responsible for the firm’s Treasury & Markets Division, overseeing asset-liability management, cash management, foreign exchange trading, equity brokerage, and securities lending. Bill began his career as a corporate lending officer, specializing in trade finance, in the firm's Private Banking division.
Outside of the firm, Bill serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for The Boy’s Club of New York, a 140-year-old social service organization serving over 3,000 boys and young men in New York City. He also serves on the Boards of the Appalachian Mountain Club, the US Ski & Snowboard Foundation, the Gladys & Roland Harriman Foundation and various community clubs and organizations in New York City and Long Island.
Bill graduated from Dartmouth College and received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
