Samuel Haihua Zhao

Samuel Zhao is the Head of our Hong Kong office and Head of Asia Pacific (ex. Japan). He focuses on strengthening the services and business development in the region. His goal is to formulate strategies that align with evolving market dynamics and client needs, positioning BBH as a trusted partner for institutional clients in Asia Pacific (ex. Japan) seeking cross-border asset servicing solutions. He also ensures our services remain resilient, scalable, and compliant amidst complex regulatory landscapes.

Samuel joined BBH in 2010 as the firm's Chief Representative in Beijing. Since that time, BBH's servicing relationships with entities in China have grown to include virtually all of the country's top banks and leading asset management institutions. Samuel has worked with the larger BBH team to introduce best practices for cross-border investing in China and to introduce BBH to a strategic segment of emerging asset gatherers.

Prior to joining the firm, Samuel worked for Visa International and Experian in China for 15 years. Samuel graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China and York University in Canada. Samuel represents BBH at the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC), and maintains relationships with relevant regulatory bodies on behalf of the firm, including the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), China Banking Association, and China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (CSDC).
